Herbalife Nutrition has formed a partnership with the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM). The students at FIDM that are part of the International Manufacturing and Product Development program will be designing a line of activewear that will be sold by the independent contractors who sell Herbalife Nutrition products. The students will be split into teams and each one will strive to come up with the best activewear collection. They will be judged based on how effectively their line will promote an active and healthy lifestyle.
Both faculty of FIDM and a team from Herbalife Nutrition will judge what the teams come up with. The criteria they will be judged on include the design they come up, the fabrics they choose, the colors, and how they will source and produce the clothing line. Each team will need to show they will merchandise each individual students clothing as well as how cohesive each team’s overall line of clothing is.
The chief executive officer of Herbalife Nutrition, Rich Goudis, said that he chose to partner with FIDM because they are one of the best fashion schools in the world. Like his own company, FIDM has shown a commitment to excellence and is one of the most innovative design schools around. He said that this partnership serves a dual purpose. First, it will help the next generation of fashion designers by providing them with real-world experience. Second, it will help his company encourage people to lead more active and healthier lifestyles.
Herbalife Nutrition was founded in Los Angeles in February 1980 by Mark Hughes. It is now a multinational company in the multi-level marketing industry. Their products are sold around the world by independent contractors who earn a commission on every sell they achieve. Their products are health supplements that revolve around either helping people lose weight or helping them work out more effectively. In addition to shakes, they also sell aloes, vitamins, protein bars, sports hydration, and energy drinks.
