Securus Technologies is a Fortress

For decades now, inmates have sought unique and challenging ways to bring contraband items into the prison for their use. Securus Technologies has made a fortune discovering ways to make it more difficult for inmates to do this. Beginning in the state of Texas, Securus Technologies has spread throughout the United States of America to the point its offices now range from coast-to-coast. They have been employed by over 1000 prisons in the United States of America alone and routinely protect 1.2 million prisoners daily. The products have been purchased by federal and state officials to be used by law enforcement and private investigators.

Securus Technologies has made its fortune by thwarting any security breach that inmates could throw at them. About six years ago a new security breach was thrown at Securus Technologies and they seek to solve that problem. This security breach occurs through the use of hobby drones. Civilians who are friends of inmates will bring a hobby drones to the prison and fly it over the walls when people are not looking in order to deliver goods that the inmates need. These goods pose a serious risk to the well-being of not only residents in the area but mainly to the prisons inside the system and the correctional officers who have dedicated their lives to protecting them.

The main items requested to be delivered by drones are drugs, weapons, and cell phones. Drugs are used by inmates to gain favor with other inmates, often using this as a transaction for a revenge incident. Weapons, of course are used for an inmate to protect themselves or to do serious damage to another inmate. Lastly, cell phones are used by inmates to contact people on the outside where they continue to run their criminal activities.

Securus Technologies understands it is crucial for them to stop this security breach as soon as possible. They believe they have what it takes to end the threat drones pose to prison security.

Securus Technologies already has a system that functions around the prisons known as the Wireless Containment Solutions. While this product normally is used to listen in on cell phone calls taking place and dropping those calls if necessary, they believe they can use the Wireless Containment Solutions to send a signal scramble at the drone and cause it to fly off course and crash into trees or the ground.

Securus Technologies is acknowledged around the world as the leading provider of safety technology. Due to the excellent work in customer service, they have received various Stevie Awards over the years. In 2017, they were awarded the gold and the silver and the bronze medals all for their customer service team.

Lacey And Larkin Come Forward To Stand Up To The Pardon Being Granted To Joe Arpaio

In November last year, Arizona County District Judge Susan Bolton approved the pardon being granted to Joe Arpaio, which brought to end the ten-year-long battle that was being faced by Arpaio and the citizens of America.

During his long reign as the Sheriff of Maricopa County, Arpaio was known for committing a number of crimes. Things like money laundering, false imprisonment, violence, racism were common things that Arpaio would engage in.

He was known to have incredibly harsh opinions of people belonging to the Latin American community and saw everyone belonging to that community as immigrants and people who were living illegally in the country, even if they did have a valid citizenship.

People belonging to the Latin American community all over the state of Arizona lived in Constant fear of Arpaio and the needs that he would commit. Seeing the actions that the Sheriff of Maricopa County was indulging in, people all over the country who shared similar racist views and opinions also decided to inflict the same kind of injustice on others.

One of the more shocking crimes that Arpaio was a part of revolved around the prisons that he ran. The prisons were kept in conditions that could only be described as new age concentration camps. People in the prisons were often denied basic human necessities and had to face an incredible amount of violence and torture.

The correctional officers in the prisons used some of the most gruesome torture techniques which resulted in the death of thousands of prisoners, and suicides of many more. Read more: Michael Lacey | Crunchbase and Village Voice Media | Wikipedia

There is no doubt that Arpaio set a bad example for people all over the country, which is why it came as a surprise when he was the first choice for the President to grant him a presidential pardon. People all over America are living in constant fear because of the people in power who are against basic human rights, and because they feel like the government is against them.

Giving someone who caused so much pain and suffering to thousands of people all over the country does not inspire confidence, and calling a criminal who has done these deeds ‘patriotic’ might not also be something that people want to renovate with.

Lacey and Larkin two newsmen who were instrumental in the trial that Arpaio faced after he falsely arrested them too came forward to talk about the pardon.

They had founded the Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund with the goal of bettering the system that we live in, and to give justice to Arpaio. Even though they thought that the ten-year-long ordeal for his arrest had finally come to an end, there is no doubt that the fight still continues.

Lacey and Larkin were two people who had released an article about Arpaio to educate the populous about the things that he had done. Following the article, they were forcefully taken from their homes and falsely imprisoned by Arpaio so as to teach them a lesson for their writing.

The Tale of Doe Deere and Lime Crime

Doe Deere is the founder of the makeup brand, Lime Crime. The brand has such an incredibly loyal following that has been described as cult-like. When it comes to Lime Crime, I must admit, I’m drinking the Kool Aid. The makeup is so incredibly unique and luxurious that I literally can’t get enough of the products. I stalk the company’s social media and website just waiting and wishing for a new product to roll out. The products Lime Crime makes are always as unique as the company itself. Doe Deere and her team have a motto. For example, Lime Crime recently released an incredibly cool line of eyeshadows that came in a brightly colored, shell-like case. The cases were made specifically to look like one of my favorite toys from the ‘90s: the infamous Polly Pocket. They say that if the team isn’t absolutely obsessed with the product, they simply won’t launch it to their fan base.

Doe Deere’s Lime Crime has gone from a small startup to a world renowned makeup brand with a massive base of customers that are incredibly loyal and serve as the brand’s best referral source. Doe Deere said that her customer’s referrals are her biggest source of new customers. She is incredibly passionate about what she does and the products that she makes.

Doe Deere was recently featured in Inspirely, a site dedicated to inspire others for success. The article covered things like the history of Lime Crime, Doe Deere’s history and her advice to others who wish to become an entrepreneur like Doe. The article begins with a picture of the gorgeous Doe Deere holding a doll of herself. Both Doe Deere and the doll are rocking bright blue hair and a bold red lipstick. Both also share her signature incredibly fair skin and mole on her cheek.

My favorite part of the article was learning more about the history of Lime Crime and Doe Deere. It made me realize how passionate Doe Deere truly is about her line of makeup. I think that this is a big part of what sets Doe Deere and Lime Crime up for such a big success and makes people so loyal to Lime Crime.

Lime Crime was originally founded to be a line of clothing. Doe Deere has always had an interest for designing clothing. In fact, she originally thought her life’s calling was to become a clothing designer. She studied at a fashion institute at the time she originally purchased the domain for Lime Crime. She chose the name due to the similarity it had to the rhyming in fairy tales. She said she adores how fairy tales seem to rhyme for no reason. However, she pivoted to a makeup brand when she realized that makeup was what she was truly called to do. She grew her following and customer base by doing online video tutorials of her doing her own makeup and Lime Crime quickly became a household name. The rest is history and Lime Crime continues to skyrocket to success.

Frontera Fund Watchful of Right-Wing DACA Threats

Right-wing GOP members of Congress and the Trump administration spent 2017 hammering away at the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which provides immigration relief for Americans who came to the U.S. illegally before their 16th birthday.

Republicans have attacked the program several times throughout the first year of the Trump White House, sending shockwaves through organizations and networks dedicated to young immigrants to the U.S.

Think tanks and organizations like Lacey & Larkin’s Frontera Fund continue to work for immigrant protection and to limit damage caused by right-wing by distributing funds to non-profit organizations on the ground, making a difference each day.

DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) gives undocumented young people who meet particular prerequisites freedom from deportation. The undocumented youths also receive a social security number and the opportunity to work in the U.S. for an initial period of two years.

Many states use DACA to provide driver’s licenses and in-state-tuition fees to undocumented young people. Learn more about DACA and program prerequisites from University of California Berkeley’s Undocumented Student Program.

Many people consider DACA to be reprieve from deportation, since the program is intended to protect immigrant children or young adults who were brought to the United States when they were minors.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton threatened the Trump White House with legal action in summer 2017 when he sent a letter requesting the administration revoke the DACA program by early September. In response, the administration began a proposed “phase off” of the program in order to avoid an immediate end to DACA protection. Since then, no new applications are being considered and no renewals of the initial two-year work period are being granted.

In total, nine Republican attorneys general and one Republican governor signed the letter of demands. The Frontera Fund followed up on the issue and the response from Arizona and continues to report on DACA and diminished immigrant protections.

For instance, in July 2017 Frontera reports that members of the Hispanic Caucus gathered to meet privately with Secretary of Homeland Security John Kelly, who announced that the program, which protected nearly a million Americans, is in trouble. Kelly cited various legal cases already challenging the program.

Immigrants and their supporters have watched with growing alarm as right-wing lawmakers circled the DACA program. They were increasingly concerned about DACA’s future after Kelly’s announcement.

The program, which was initiated in 2012 by President Obama, is considered a success by many, including powerhouse research groups like The Brookings Institute, which reports nearly 100 percent of DACA participants work, study or do both. DACA youth also provide millions of dollars in tuition and fees to universities across the nation, and these youth have increased their earnings and are now taxpayers.

These monetary gains are very meaningful to DACA youth and their families, who participate in the U.S. economy by going back to school, buying new homes and vehicles, starting their own businesses, and more.

DACA youth and their families are frightened. Their supporters are frightened. Democratic lawmakers and constituents are alarmed. We must fight back the right’s continual campaign to destroy DACA. We must organize ourselves as ferociously as we did in 2012 and effect change.

Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund continues to guide and assist those fighting to preserve DACA and work toward a permanent solution for DREAMers and other immigrant groups.
